Interview Media Youtube

This is a video of myself, Nicholas Ahorituware and Dylan Bokanga, experimenting different Camera angles including Long shot, mid shot, getting closer to the characters faces very slowly, pan, P.O.V. (Point Of View) etc...

The video consists of three scenes. The first is an interview, which use two camera angle; Close Up and P.O.V. Nicholas is interviewing me about  a party I went to and had trouble in. It is supposed to be as if it is a police interview.

The second scene is me breaking some very tragic news to Dylan. This scene uses pan view and a slow zoom in on us.

And finally, me giving an example of a long shot as I walk slowly towards the camera.

I enjoyed making these videos as it was my first time acting. It took several different takes just to get each shot and each scene right.

Narrative and Genre

Narrative film making refers to the types of movies that tell a story. These are the films most widely screened in theaters, broadcast on TV, streamed in the internet, and sold as DVDs and Blu-rays.

Genre's are the different types of films or TV Series there are. For example, if a film is scary, mysterious and leaves suspense its a thriller.

With my knowledge on Narrative and Genre, I can create my own successful film. I will be able to use different techniques used in different genres in my film, depending on what the genre or narrative is.

3 Main examples of Genres are;

Thriller

Thriller is a broad genre of literature, film, and television programming that uses suspense, tension and excitement as the main elements. Thrillers heavily stimulate the viewer's moods giving them a high level of anticipation, ultra-heightened expectation, uncertaintysurpriseanxiety and/or terror. Thriller films tend to be adrenaline-rushing, gritty, rousing and fast-pacedLiterary devices such as red herringsplot twists and cliffhangers are used extensively. A thriller is a villain-driven plot, whereby he or she presents obstacles that the protagonist must overcome.

Comedy

Genre of dramatic literature that deals with the light and amusing or with the serious and profound in a light, familiar, or satirical manner.

Drama

A composition in verse or prose intended to portray life or character or to tell a story usually involving conflicts and emotions through action and dialogue and typically designed for theatrical performance

Coursework Brief

I have been given a brief to follow and use to outline the details of what I have to do.  The brief is like a checklist of tasks I have to complete.

"AS Foundation Portfolio
